Data Storage Foundations

The course covers in-depth architecture and functionality of the Microsoft NT File System (NTFS), and exFAT File Systems, and related directory entry metadata for locating files on electronic devices. This hands-on, 3-day course will introduce the participants to the many forensically relevant items saved on a Windows-based system through the user’s interaction and routine, host operating system functionality.  SQLite will be introduced along with basic scripting techniques to exploit the data.

The Dark Web Host-Based Forensics course offers expert-level training over the span of a week, tailored for digital forensic examiners who handle cases involving the Dark Web and Cryptocurrency. This intensive program delves into the world of Tor, I2P and Freenet and what residual evidence persists on the host device that can reveal user activity on these anonymous networks.

This course is designed for Investigators involved in the investigation of any crime where the use of cryptocurrency is involved.  This course will cover the basics of cryptocurrency, how its used and how to trace transactions through blockchains

This course will first introduce you to the RegEx language and apply the skills learnt across multiple data sets using Windows® PowerShell. This is a hands-on intensive course with multiple instructor led labs and student practicals, followed by a certification exam to demonstrate proficiently in building complex RegEx patterns and applications in PowerShell.

SQLite Forensics Fundamentals

This course will give participants an understanding of SQLite, how data is stored and the skills necessary to create queries to extract, interpret and present information in a meaningful manner. This includes translating dates and times and querying information stored in multiple tables to create a more robust report.
