What is Live Remote Synchronous Training?

Remote Synchronous Training (RST) allows the attendee to participate in a structured training courses remotely, in the comfort of your own office. It eliminates travel costs and provides a fully interactive environment, just like being in the classroom! RST delivery is specifically designed to simulate a live learning environment. Students have two-way communication with the instructor as well as the other students in the class using a typical hardware setup from their remote location. Instructors can monitor and interact with all students at the same time. When needed, instructors can assist students by physically interacting with his/her assigned machine in the Spyder Forensics remote classroom.

What you will need:

A computer (Windows or Apple) connected to the internet allowing access to GoToTraining™ for instructor delivery and a chosen Remote Desktop software solution to interact with the remote classroom PC · A microphone to interact via voice with the class (not required as Chat window is always available) · Speakers to hear the class being delivered · Preferred 2 monitors to open multiple windows (GoToTraining and Remote PC windows)

This 4 day intermediate class is designed to provide the student with the skills and techniques to respond to a cyber intrusion incident. The students will learn the anatomy of an intrusion, collection of memory and volatile artifacts, and techniques to unravel the mystery of how the network was compromised.

Course Overview

This two day class is designed to familiarize the student with the many artifacts left behind on Windows based media and mobile devices from the most popular internet browsers and email applications.

This course is designed to advance the skill set of forensic examiners by focusing on internet artifacts and email analysis.

Completing this course will enable forensic examiners to:

  • Understand the states of the World Wide Web
  • Understand the nature of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and communication ports
  • Identify and understand the various forensic artifacts left by common internet browsers
  • Identify and understand the various forensic artifacts left by common email applications

About the Trainer
Charles Giglia has been in the field of computer forensics since 2000 concentrating primarily on the research and development of computer forensic investigative techniques and training curriculum. Charles has an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Canisius College and a graduate degree in forensic science from the University of New Haven. Charles had been deployed nearly 18 months from 2007 to 2009 doing computer forensic investigations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom while serving as a U.S. Army Contractor in Baghdad. Previously he spent six years as a Computer Crime Specialist with the NW3C while leading the development of numerous training classes. His primary concentrations were courses related to Internet investigations and Internet forensics. Charles has been a guest presenter at the FBI training academy, as well as several IACIS, FACT, RCFG/GMU, HTCIA international/regional conferences and an adjunct professor at Fairmont State College. He is a Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) and a Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
